Case Study: Grimsthorpe Castle

Grimsthorpe Castle - Automated Gates

Grimsthorpe Castle, a historic country house located in the Lincolnshire countryside, was originally built as a defensive structure in the 13th century.

Today, the castle is open to the public and features a range of attractions, including guided tours of the castle’s interior, expansive gardens and parkland, a lake, and a collection of vintage cars. For our part, Melcom provided a highly sophisticated automated gates and access control system.

We were approached by the owners regarding security and had the pleasure of adding full automation to all of their custom fabricated gates and entry points.

Along with Intercom access systems, we have also aided them with temporary intruder alarm systems on scaffolding towers with security beams during renovations on the outside of the castle.

Grimsthorpe estate also comprises a vast number of other buildings, for which we have also catered. We provided a full fire alarm system, CCTV system and intruder alarm system for the estate services centre, which has just recently been built. We now have the privilege of continuing to work very closely with Grimsthorpe Castle and Sebastian on their future projects and also maintaining all existing installations at this magnificent castle that holds so much history for the monarchy.
